[STEPHANIE]

I might look tough

It’s just a facade

I’m terrified

But I must be strong

It’s a lot to bear in my current condition

So I’ve reached out through this transition

I found my tribe

They share my pain

We tell our truths

Let go of the weight

I can speak with them

Without shame or fear

We laugh, we cry and

Hold our tears

"No bad days"

Is our battle cry

Every minute’s a gift

When you run out of time

Love and connection

Compassion affection

My life’s worth more

Than I had ever known

My grandson picks movies with me

My daughter brews my favorite teas

My son-in-law is a modern day saint

Pays the bills without complaint

Despite this luck, there are things I can’t say

I don’t want to die or fade away

So I hold my cards

About my condition

And I’ve reached out to face this transition

"No bad days"

Is our battle cry

Every minute’s a gift

Since I’ve run out of time

Love and connection

Compassion affection

Yeah my life’s worth more

Than I had ever known
